Members must attend both dates to complete the program.

BWA has arranged for a WSIB Small Business Health & Safety Program that focuses on our challenges. AND! You could qualify to receive a 5% rebate on your WSIB premium (one time only) after participating in the program. This program requires 2 people from your company, one must be an owner or senior manager to attend.

When: March 13th 9 am – 5 pm & March 20th 9 am – 1 pm
Where: Communitech – 151 Charles St. W #100 Kitchener, ON N2G 1H6
Cost: $150.00 for two people ($75 per person)
Refreshments and Lunch will be included on Day 1, refreshments on the Day 2

WSIB – Small Business Health and Safety Program

The program will help you develop an effective and successful health and safety program to better manage your business risks and enhance health and safety awareness. By taking part in the WSIB’s “Building your Health and Safety Program”, you will receive:

  • Information on how to reduce your WSIB costs
  • Hands on training for Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act
  • Free, accessible and easy-to-understand health and safety resources
  • Free ongoing support with a small business health and safety consultant

Through this program, your company will receive a one-time 5% rebate on your previous year’s WSIB premiums after the owner or senior manager meets all of the following requirements:

  • Attends both in-class training sessions
  • Completes a self-evaluation
  • Completes a health and safety action plan
  • Develops an inspection procedure and return to work procedure

Who can join?
You are eligible to join if your business:

  • Employer’s WSIB account must be in good standing (paid up to date).
  • pays $90,000 or less in WSIB premiums per year
  • An employer cannot be currently registered in the Safety Groups program or have received a SCIP or Building Your Health and Safety Program rebate in the past.
